On relative worth

I might the first to say it (apparently so, judging by the obfuscation present in both print and online media today) but, if the government wants a straight answer, then no. The two degrees are not the same, and everyone knows it. To pretend to have ‘discovered’ otherwise is an utter fallacy.

One of these degrees is the result of reputation over reality, and the other is the product of hard work and effort in the face of a systemic media and cultural bias. The reports in question might, for example, have examined the MA process at work within Oxbridge colleges as a transparent indicator of ‘worth’, or probed the actual teaching and research present in either institution, but instead chose to employ disingenuous investigatory techniques in order to present a ‘neutral’ perspective.

Grow up.
