I got my heart

First of all, to let everyone know who might remotely care that the Watershed are showing MirrorMask for two weeks at the start of March, in addition to the preview showing next Saturday. Thus demonstrating that Bristol is the centre of the universe. At least when it comes to getting a cinema run for alternative animation in the UK. Go and see it. You might not find it to your taste, but at least you won’t have to watch a trailer for the Da Vinci Code.

In other news, I need a haircut. If I was Neil Gaiman (and I’ve occasionally wondered why I’m not, but then realised there are several good, non-quantum related reasons) then I’d be having my hair cut somewhere called Hair Police, but instead I get Salvatore’s Barbershop. Although I do note that Hair Police don’t accept online bookings, so we’re one up on our cousins across the water.

Song of the week this week is Nina Simone’s “Ain’t Got No/I Got Life”, because it’s been hijacked to sell macrobiotic yoghurt and cars in the last few months, and it’s been one of those weeks that didn’t seem to end and songs like that make you thankful for what you’ve got. I remember hearing it for the first time a few years ago on a South Bank Show about Nick Cave (odd that I was watching that…).

Right. Haircut. Then more reading.
